Matttttt Hepner reads G. Campbell Morgan's chapter on John the Apostle and stops to talk it through. Morgan starts with John's background: son of Zebedee and Salome, partner in the fishing business with Simon and Andrew, from a family with hired servants, a cousin of Jesus after the flesh (Matthew 27:55-56), and a man with a house in Jerusalem, where he took Mary after the cross (John 19:26-27).

Then Morgan follows John through the Gospels and turns to the Lord's methods with him: "What seek ye?" (John 1:38), the invitation to "come and see" (John 1:39), which Morgan ties to Revelation 1:1-2 where John "bare record ... of all things that he saw," the call to be fishers of men (Mark 1:17), the name Boanerges, sons of thunder (Mark 3:17), the sharp corrections ("Forbid him not," and the wish to call down fire, Luke 9:49-56), the way of the cross (Mark 10:38-39), and the confidence Jesus showed in trusting John with His mother and with the Revelation. It closes on John 21:20-23: "If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?"

What does the Bible teach about spiritual warfare, forgiveness, confronting evil, and walking in authority through Jesus Christ? The episode begins with Patreon-submitted questions and quickly moves into a discussion about the Biblical canon: if the hosts had to remove or add a book, which would they choose? That opens a wider conversation about Esther, 1 Enoch, Jubilees, the Book of Giants, extra material associated with Daniel, the number of books in the Bible, and whether modern claims of “new revelation” should ever be treated with the same authority as Scripture.
