In April 2001, police knocked on Don & Elaine Sluti's door to tell them they were called to the mall regarding a kidnapping and the purse left behind belonged to their 17-year-old daughter Anne Sluti. Anne was an honor student and track star who spent the next 6 days fighting for her life against her abductor, Tony Zappa.

August 1, 2002, 17-year-old Jacque Marris was parked at a well-known spot in Quartz Hill, CA overlooking Palmdale. She was with her friend, Frank, and just after midnight a man approached them with a gun. He tied Frank's hands to the steering wheel and his head to the headrest. He was about to tie Jacque up but in a last minute decision he decided to take her instead. He forced her into a nearby white ford bronco (not OJ's), and when she got in she noticed a pair of legs next to her. She initially thought it was a dead body but it was actually 16-year-old honor student: Tamara Brooks. For the next 12 hours these strangers would become the most important people in each other's lives.

In 1998, a woman was cooking breakfast when there was a knock on her door. She opened it and found 6-year-old Brooke Sutton covered in blood begging for help. Brooke was staying with her grandmother, Judy Johnson, next door and a man came in and attacked them, killing 58-year-old Judy. Brooke could identify the attacker, but it would take years and a hell of a fight from her aunt Melinda to really get justice.

Mary Stauffer was married to Pastor Irv Stauffer in Roseville, MN. In March of 1980, Irv announced to the congregation that they would be moving to the Philippines on a 4-year mission assignment. What he didn't know was that Mary's "boyfriend" was in the crowd listening...and he wasn't ready to let her go. *Warning: you may cry (because we sure as F did)
