No walking corpses, no mythological creatures nor mad scientist concoctions that make you crazy, but rather the story of a good and normal, docile man going insane from injustice, transforming into a monster that was there all along, his inner monster, upon the realization that life is inherently unfair and being polite and nice within a professional context is rarely rewarding to those with actual merit, but instead often rewards those willing to be the biggest buttheads. This fallen man transforms into the phantom, a living ghost that haunts the opera house, sabotaging anybody that gets in the way of a young actress that he has been secretly sponsoring for years, now doing what he can from the shadows to save her from suffering the same fate as himself, protecting her innocence as an artist and a person from being tainted by the cruelty of the dog eat dog nature of the entertainment business. He murders a whole bunch of Parisians via chandelier before stealing her down to his sewer kingdom to play some music with her before her goofball suitors rescue her, accidentally causing a cave-in that crushes the phantom, and then he dies...📋 PREVIOUS EPISODE RANKED LIST 📋1. YAY!!!The movie is effectively a sequel to both The Ghost of Frankenstein AND The Wolf Man, beginning with the rewriting of the rules of werewolfism, as we find Larry the wolf man still alive in his coffin covered in wolfsbane. Now it’s the full moon that’s responsible for his transformation, and silver is no longer lethal because nothing is lethal because he’s immortal I guess even though his father beat him to death with a silver cane but now he’s still alive. Does that mean that Bela Lugosi’s werewolf is still alive? Who cares, BRING IN FRANKY! That’s right, the wolf man finds the body of everybody’s favorite walking amalgamated corpse, Frankenstein’s Monster! Together they scheme on how they can finally die because immortality sucks. A fantastic theme! Fantastically wasted!! Because for some reason the doctor that is supposed to help them die randomly wants to do the opposite, so that Franky and Larry can have a fight scene motivated by nothing at all! They were buddies the whole movie but I guess we need something exciting to happen as a climax so let’s get punchin! But wait! Flashbacks to the first movie to fill ten minutes of screen time with an overall copy pasted script from the last movie. Characters that were dead in the first movie magically brought back to life by a single line of dialogic justification. Reused shots from better movies in this series to save up enough money to hire a really hot 1940’s pinup babe with massive perky pyramids. And yes, of course what would a terrible B-movie be without a title that nobody thought out. The Mummy’s Hand made no sense for the last one, and The Mummy’s Tomb makes no sense for this one. In fact these two movies should swap titles, but whatever, who cares? Nobody. Nobody at Universal seems to care about these Mummy movies, they always get the ass end of the Sphinx. They aren’t just bad, they’re lazy. Look at that McCurdy, a politician maintaining power by turning a blind eye towards mob violence to direct attention and ire away from problems he more than likely caused himself, a tale as old as time. However their dynamite only serves to free Frankenstein’s Monster from his internment deep within the hardened sulfur pit below the Castle’s Laboratory. After escaping with Ygor, who is magically still alive as well, the dastardly duo head to another village to find yet another Son of Frankenstein, Ludwig, to once more use electricity to help the monster somehow, we don’t know, we’re not really told what’s going on or why anything is happening at all. But then Ludwig talks to his father’s ghost, who tells him to fix the Monster’s brain, but then Ygor conspires with Ludwig’s assistant to put YGOR’S brain into The Monster’s body so that Ygor will live forever as the Monster, but the villagers of this new village form yet another angry mob and burn down Ludwig’s home with the Ygor Monster Combo Thing in it, and then they both die!📋 PREVIOUS EPISODE RANKED LIST 📋1.
