In 2011, Canadian superfan Nick Perry was one of the band's Garage Tour competition winners.
Find out what happened when Dave Grohl and co turned up for a fairytale performance at his home in Milton, Ontario.
In 2014, Jay Apperley, frontman of tribute act UK Foo Fighters, was planning his own homage to the band's 2008 warm-up gig at Brighton's Concorde 2.
Then the real Foo Fighters booked the venue for a surprise show and called him up on stage for his big moment.
And this summer, Spanish tribute singer Marc Bautista stole the show at the band's Liverpool concert, thanks to his eye-catching Mentos costume.
Now popularly known in Foo fandom as 'Mentos Guy', Marc was spotted by Dave and invited on stage for a the moment went viral across the Foo Fighters community.
