NEW POD: Under lights at the MCG the Hawks dug deep to make it back-to-back wins, besting Sydney by 17 points. Dylan Moore’s redemption story continued, Ginni turned in a superb second half, and Gunston dominated again. In fact, the Hawks had heroes across the board in what was a really pleasing victory. It was a lacklustre blockbuster, at least from an Essendon perspective. But for us Hawks, it was heavenly - a comprehensive 62-point smashing of the old arch rivals, with plenty of goals left out there too! Dyl and Croc put a horror week behind them, Reeves made a triumphant return, and Gunston once again proved unstoppable. Opening Round saw the Hawks get comprehensively outworked by an undermanned Giants outfit, leading to a 27-point loss. There were a few shining lights, but mostly the feeling was one of disappointment.
