What a pleasure to have Danial Lawton on the show for this weeks episode. As a leading designer in the Permaculture space, Danial has done incredible work shaping landscapes and designing resilient and abundant systems for his clients.

Coming from a family upbringing engulfed in the Permaculture movement allowed Danial to really get his senses tuned into landscapes and that is reflected in the way he operates today.

In this episode I’m joined by Josh Gardens, also known as the Plant Techie, for a conversation about the crossover between plants, gardening and technology.

Josh sits in that really interesting space where two worlds collide... the living, breathing, sometimes messy world of plants, and the fast-moving world of tech, tools, data and innovation. We talk about what technology can offer gardeners, where it can help us understand our plants better, and also where we need to be careful not to lose the simple human connection of actually observing, touching and spending time in the garden.

On the show this week we have the awesome Silas Hedley-Lawrence or the [Grassfed_farmer]. Silas is a regenerative agri-coach who has recently finished the incredible CREATE course by Nicole Masters and is making headway in the agriculture sector in the UK.

In the conversation we outline how Silas manages to feed cows grass all year round in a place like the UK and what challenges are needing to be faced in order to tackle some of the issues with UK cattle farming.

These are some really important topics and fill me with optimism and hope for the way in which we can farm for our future!

Today I was joined by the mighty Nick Pratt who goes by the handle 'nicholasisbarefoot' sharing ways that people can regain control of their own resources and building resilience through close-knit communities.

We speak about how broken systems are making us rely heavily upon them and when crisis strikes we bare the full force of the repercussions. Continuing to have the majority of our population relying on a few bottlenecks bound to break is a recipe for disaster.

This conversation sheds light on what we can do to bring back a little more security for ourselves, our families and our communities. By growing our own food, harvesting natural resources like rain, carbon, sunlight etc, we can protect ourselves against collapse and reinforce what it means to be part of a symbiotic system within nature.
