The Tinder Swindler is Shimon Hayut, an Israeli conman who posed as a wealthy diamond heir named Simon Leviev on dating apps like Tinder.
He would match with women, quickly charm them with a lavish lifestyle—private jets, luxury hotels, expensive gifts—then fabricate emergencies (like threats from “enemies”) to convince them to send him large sums of money. He often used funds from new victims to maintain the illusion for others, essentially running a Ponzi-style scam.
