In part one of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, after OpenAI’s experimental artificial-intelligence models escaped their test environment and hacked another company last week, cybersecurity leaders are asking a serious question: What happens when someone does it on purpose? OpenAI said the models exploited a previously unknown software flaw last week to escape a controlled testing environment, before breaking into AI platform Hugging Face, while trying to complete an assigned task. The WSJ article went on to say the company is working with Hugging Face on a fuller technical report after posting a detailed disclosure of the incident on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service is anticipating that dangerous heat will bake the region for the foreseeable future, keeping temperatures in the triple digits and raising the "feels like" as high as 115. Heat advisories are expected to last through the week.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Wednesday that the United States remains willing to negotiate with Iran but warned there "will be consequences" if Tehran continues to violate its commitments. Speaking at the ASEAN Summit in the Philippines, hours after U.S. forces completed their 11th consecutive night of strikes against Iranian military targets, Rubio said Washington remains open to diplomacy but questioned whether Iran is negotiating in good faith.
