Renae Ingles: Gold Medals, Motherhood & Finding Yourself Again

    26/08/2026 | 1h 9 mins.
    [Watch the full episode here]

Renae Ingles knows what it takes to win at the highest level. But it was the setbacks that shaped her most.

This week, Renae joins Trent to unpack a career that included premierships, Commonwealth Games and World Cup gold, and the setback she believes changed everything.
After winning silver for Australia, Renae was dropped from the 2011 World Championship team. It forced her to get uncomfortable, change environments and rebuild, eventually fighting her way back to win the gold medals she'd spent years chasing.

But this conversation goes far beyond sport.

Renae opens up about perfectionism, people-pleasing, and attaching her identity to achievement; becoming a mum and returning to elite sport; raising her son Jacob following his autism diagnosis; building a marriage and family alongside Joe Ingles' NBA career; and the challenge of discovering who you are when the thing that defined you for so long is gone.

It's a conversation about success, setbacks, family, identity and learning that the journey might matter more than the medal.

    This is Renae Ingles, Shaped.

Justin Leppitsch: “I Wasn’t Ready to Be a Senior Coach”

    19/08/2026 | 1h
[Watch the full episode here] Triple premiership player. Senior coach. Premiership assistant. List manager. Justin Leppitsch has experienced almost every side of AFL football.
This week on Shaped, Trent sits down with his former Richmond coach and friend to unpack the moments that have shaped Leppitsch across football, leadership and life.

From leaving home at just 17 and becoming part of Brisbane’s historic three-peat, to being sacked as Lions senior coach and rebuilding his career at Richmond, Leppitsch reflects candidly on success, failure and the lessons he’d do differently today.

He shares what he learned helping develop players like Alex Rance, why coaching a premiership ultimately meant more to him than playing in one, and how those experiences continue to influence his role shaping Collingwood’s list and future.

Justin also gives insight into what makes Nick Daicos exceptional, discusses the pressure facing modern AFL coaches and players, and explains why the most important part of building a successful culture is having good people in the right roles.

Away from football, Justin opens up about fatherhood, raising three daughters, taking risks outside the game, and why family has ultimately changed his definition of success.

A conversation about football, leadership, failure, family, and learning to back yourself.
