21 Questions (Ep 63) Of COURSE Percussionists Are Real Musicians!

    19/06/2026 | 11 mins.
In this Ep of 21 Questions by Trivia Tribe Mike will ask you about a city in Europe, a river in the USA and a pretty decent wall in China. Along the way Mike will say disparaging things about two female literary heroines and one former American president. It’s quite a lively episode!

Not many people know this but Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture did not originally contain the cannon blasts for which it is now famous – but he knew it was missing something. Two days before the Overture’s first performance he was listening to this podcast and heard the question: Which homophone is both a large calibre weapon and a musical term for a round like 'Row Row Row Your Boat’? and he realised what the piece was missing! A quick trip to Guns ‘R Us and he was good to go!

21 Questions is hosted by comedian and trivia host Mike van Acker. It’s a short, sharp trivia podcast where Mike gives you the answer to each question before he asks the next one so there’s no need for paper, pens, teams or an autographed photo of Anson Williams.

21 Questions (Ep 62) The School Teacher Who Hated The Kids

    17/06/2026 | 14 mins.
In this Ep of 21 Questions by Trivia Tribe Mike will ask you about the American President who was invited to join the marines – he was in his 70s at the time! We’ll talk about a famous actor who’s inability to win an Oscar makes him a world record holder, and there’s even a Simpsons question as well – but it’s quite easy, we promise!

Not many people know this but in 1879 when Aussie bushranger Ned Kelly was writing his famous Jerilderie Letter he mentioned this podcast! It’s a very long letter but on page 54 (of 56! Really-google it!) Ned wrote: “And whilst I realise my days on this Earth may be numbered, my existence now and yesterday and all the days before has been made all the sweeter for the dulcet tones of Mike van Acker and his 21 Questions podcast…’.
    So that’s nice.

21 Questions (Ep 61) Fatal Attraction? OMW!

    16/06/2026 | 10 mins.
In this Ep of 21 Questions by Trivia Tribe Mike asks about a type of belt – but not the type you’re thinking about. There’s also a question about Buckingham Palace,  a tourist landmark in America and a fried fast food that they named a TV show after. Crazy times!

Not many people know this but on June 12, 1987 when U.S. President Ronald Reagan said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" he was actually talking about a paywall that the Russians had put on this podcast so its citizens couldn’t listen in and learn about the rest of the world. Gorby completely misunderstood and tore down the Berlin Wall instead - and we’re very glad he did! Freedom for all oppressed peoples we say!
