  • America’s Tapestry: The Delaware Panel
The Embroiderers’ Guild of America (egausa.org) is sponsoring this week’s show about the America’s Tapestry Delaware project. In our June 7, 2025 show, we met Stefan Romero, creator of the America’s Tapestry project. The purpose of the project is to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with stitched panels from each of the 13 colonies that tell little-known stories about America’s formative days. To learn all of the details, listen to that initial show with Stefan. This week, we meet with Stefan and Delaware co-chairs Becky Gutin and Amy Gilley to learn how they mapped out how to stitch the Delaware panel, their approach to making it possible for needleworkers of all skill levels to contribute to the panel, and what a stitching session is like. To keep up with the projects in all 13 colonies, visit americastapestry.com. To follow the Delaware project, join their Facebook group and/or follow them on Instagram. All links are listed below. Also, if you want to support the overall project beyond stitching, visit the America’s Tapestry website for details.—Gary Listen to the podcast: Watch the video You can listen by using the player above or you can subscribe to Fiber Talk through iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Audible, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, Podbay, and Podbean. • Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 10-8-25
It appears that another Wednesday has arrived and our habit is to gather for some needlework chat. This week Cindy and Gary fired up the online recording system to talk about Sunday’s upcoming America’s Tapestry show, helping beginners without scaring them off (bite your tongue, a lot), the new set of needlepoint cards from Emma Homent of Markers Marks, a question from Debra Yerike about using wheat paste to protect the back of your projects (there will be more about this topic in upcoming shows), and a tangent discussion about the value of reading books. Sunday’s guests are Becky Gutin and Amy Gilley of the Delaware America’s Tapestry project.—Cindy and Gary Listen to the podcast: Watch the video. Click here to view it. • Regency Embroidery with Hilary Leslie
Embroidery artist Hilary Leslie, of HLeslie Design, joins us this week. Hilary combined her drawing addiction, a small bag of embroidery materials she picked up at a yard sale, and extra time during the pandemic to develop an embroidery design business that now offers a huge number of patterns, videos, and classes. In the five years she’s been designing embroidery art, she has also written a book, Unofficial Bridgerton Embroidery, that contains several projects inspired by the TV show. If you want to give embroidery a try and/or are looking for attractive smaller projects, visit Hilary’s website. You’ll likely find something you want to stitch.–Gary Listen to the podcast: Watch the video You can listen by using the player above or you can subscribe to Fiber Talk through iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Audible, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, Podbay, and Podbean. • Fiber Talk Midweek Chat, 9-24-25
We return in the middle of the week to converse about needlework. Our topics include new Patreon videos, Beth’s Pour ta Fete finish (work on a project 15 min. a day and you make significant progress), the Phoenix Band Sampler, taking a social-media break, and our sampler short lists. We each chose five-ish and ended up overlapping with two. If you’re looking for interesting samplers, particularly challenging ones, you might find them in our collection. If you listen to the audio podcast, you can find a slide show of our sampler selections below. We also ask the question: Now that we’ve listed our top projects, why aren’t we stitching any of them? Sunday’s guest: Hilary Leslie, HLeslie Design.–Beth and Gary Listen to the podcast: Watch the video. Click here to view it.
