This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re talking parent friends (because there really is something so nice about having people in the exact same season of life as you), and how we’re starting to think through postpartum planning for baby #2 (think family visits, meal prep, time off, etc. and all the little logistics we probably should have done by now but… SECOND BABY!). 

We also get into our Easter weekend plans, the surprisingly effective tip helping us wean Tate off the pacifier, and whether “Where’s Jessica?!” is actually the toddler tantrum hack of the century (HAVE YOU GUYS HEARD OF THIS?!).

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, the countdown continues… we are officially less than a month away from baby #2 and it’s pretty much all we can think (and talk) about right now… (so SORRY in advance 😭 but iykyk)

We get into how we’re actually preparing for this transition — from how we’re thinking about introducing our toddler to the baby, to what we’ve heard works (and what feels slightly questionable), and why this feels like one of those moments you can’t fully prepare for but will absolutely overthink anyway (ex: this entire episode hahahah)

We bring some debates from the comments to the pod: (1) play kitchen vs. toddler tower… aka fake cooking vs. real cooking… is pretend cooking actually MORE beneficial than cooking IRL?! And (2) another parenting gray area — is it ever OK to parent someone else’s kid, or is that totally off limits? (Not that gray to us… but you guys in the comments are very split on this 👀)

Outside of that, this episode goes everywhere in the best way as always. Harrison casually reveals he signed up for a HYROX race without telling me, we spiral on the concept of people getting LA Marathon medals at 18 miles, and debate some VERY important life questions (the MOST important lol) like whether you can bring a baby to a movie theater… and if a Subway footlong is acceptable airplane food.

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, someone hit our PARKED car and drove off… which quickly turned our neighborhood into a full-blown detective operation. Ring cameras were reviewed, theories were formed, and the neighborhood group chat is working overtime trying to figure out WHO hit the car.

Before we get there, we talk about the emotional side of preparing for baby #2 — including the weird “grief” mom’s experience going from one kid to two — and when toddlers ACTUALLY understand there’s a baby in mom’s belly.
