Talk Of The Townsends

With Sense and Sensibility in cinemas, Hannah and Benedict take a closer look at what makes an adaptation work, and when sticking to the book might be the problem.
From The Lord of the Rings to The Hunger Games, they discuss your favourite adaptations, the changes worth making and why capturing the feeling of a book matters more than including every detail.
They also chat to Sense and Sensibility stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and George MacKay about bringing a beloved book to the screen, feeling too modern in a period drama and whether yearning is overrated.

"Soon is here."
New studio, same yapping. Hannah and Benedict welcome you to a brand new era of Talk of the Townsends, now officially a Global podcast!
This week, Benedict spends an evening with Tom Cruise, while Hannah attends the unveiling of a 50p coin and gets caught up in some unexpected drama.
They also unpack Aaron Sorkin’s awkward AI interview, debate the New York Times’ best TV shows of the 21st century and get very worked up about an alleged Game of Thrones snub.
Plus, who’s going to win Celebrity Traitors? They’ve asked previous Traitors winners for their predictions before making some questionable calls of their own.
Subscribe for two episodes a week and extra Traitors episodes recorded on the night!
