If you ever needed to be reminded about the interconnectedness of the planet, just look to the story of travelling dust.
Minuscule yet so important in sustaining life on planet earth. By fertilising rainforests and oceans, it helps create the oxygen we breath, the food we eat, the biodiversity that makes the world go round.
Who knows, maybe we wouldn’t be here without it!
This episode of Awe Struck features interviews with Children's author Martha Brockenbrough about her book A Gift of Dust, and University of Tasmania researcher Jake Weis. - Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.
With one of the world’s most remarkable life cycles and migrations, the eel is a reminder that the world is wonderful.
Yet, faced with ongoing threats from climate change and dams, the once abundant eel is having a hard time.
Bringing together poetry, memory, philosophy, science and hope, this documentary is my quest to muster up a little love for the mysterious and underrated eel.
Guests include author Patrik Svensson, eel scientist Dr Wayne Kosta, and Gunditjmara ranger Jakobe Walker.
