Sleep doesn’t last long in Crownfall.
As the party continues their cautious journey back toward the outpost, Annabel hears something chilling during her watch—a distant scream echoing through the darkness of the forest. Not once, but twice. 🌙🌲
The sound is wrong.
Muffled. Painful. Desperate.
Unsure whether it’s a trap, a prisoner, or something even stranger, Annabel and Quinn immediately begin investigating. Familiars are sent into the night. Headcounts are taken. Bram is watched closely. But the scream remains unexplained. 👁️
Soon, Miller and Thelandor are awakened, and the four adventurers make a choice that has become all too familiar:
They head straight toward the danger. ⚔️
Guided only by moonlight and instinct, Annabel, Quinn, Miller, and Thelandor push deeper into the woods until they discover a small lean-to hidden among the trees. A campfire burns softly beneath it. Two figures sit in the darkness.
And one of them appears to be the source of the screams. 🔥
But as the party watches from a distance, something feels off.
This isn’t a torture scene.
This isn’t an ambush.
At least… it doesn’t seem to be.
🕯️ Crownfall continues to remind the party that not every mystery in the wilds can be solved with steel.
Sometimes the hardest part is figuring out what’s really happening before you act.

After another tense night in the wilderness, Annabel, Quinn, Miller, and Thelandor awaken with growing suspicions about the mysterious traveler following them. Miller remembers almost nothing from his late-night conversation with Bram—and that alone is enough to set alarms ringing. 🌑👁️
Something is wrong.
Quinn and Annabel quietly warn Thelandor before turning in to rest, leaving the Stone Warden alone on watch with the stranger. What follows is not a fight… but something far more unsettling. ❄️⚔️
Thelandor confronts Bram directly, blade at his throat, demanding answers. And for the first time since meeting him, Bram stops pretending.
A smile creeps across his face.
He admits Thelandor’s divine senses are correct—there is something deeply evil inside him. But instead of fear, Bram speaks with calm certainty. He doesn’t threaten the party. He doesn’t attack.
He simply makes one thing clear:
He intends to reach the portal. 🔥
No matter who tries to stop him.

The wilds aren’t empty anymore.
After realizing they were being followed through the forests outside Norvale, Annabel, Quinn, Miller, and Thelandor finally confront the mysterious humanoid tracking their movements. The stranger calls himself Bram Deepwood—a traveler claiming he only wanted safety in numbers after surviving the fall of Norvale. 🌲🌑
But something doesn’t add up.
No one recognizes him.
 His answers feel rehearsed.
 And worst of all… Thelandor’s divine senses detect unmistakable evil radiating from him. 👁️⚔️
Weapons are drawn instantly.
Annabel presses a blade to Bram’s throat while Quinn studies every reaction, especially when her glowing prism staff catches his attention. Miller questions the stranger directly, frustrated by vague answers and half-truths. But through it all, Bram remains unsettlingly calm—as if none of this frightens him in the slightest. 🩸
The deeper the conversation goes, the stranger the encounter becomes.
Bram speaks like someone who knows more than he should. His words twist strangely around forgiveness, travel, and survival. And the more he talks, the more the party begins to wonder if they’re standing in front of a frightened survivor… or something far more dangerous hiding behind a human face. 🔥

The pale blue ash covering the graveyard still lingers in their minds. Quinn’s glowing staff raises more questions than answers. And the silence in the wilderness feels heavier than ever. 🌑❄️
Then they notice it.
Something—or someone—is tracking them through the woods. 👁️🌲
The party immediately shifts into survival mode. Annabel and Quinn break off from the group, circling back through the forest in an attempt to hunt the stalker before it can disappear again. Roo vanishes invisibly into the trees while Annabel moves like a ghost through the wilderness, quickly disappearing from sight entirely. ⚔️🐺
Meanwhile, Miller and Thelandor remain behind, watching the woods carefully as tension tightens around the group. Every snapped branch feels deliberate. Every shadow between the trees feels alive.
Because Crownfall is teaching them a dangerous lesson:
The gnolls are not the only things moving in the wilds anymore.

After surviving a brutal battle against gnolls and a deadly roc, Annabel, Quinn, Miller, and Thelandor finally reach the chapel at the center of town. The dead have been hidden, distractions have been set, and for the first time in hours, the party has a chance to move unseen. ⚔️🌑
But something feels wrong.
Ash blankets the ground around the chapel in a thin gray layer, making every movement impossible to hide. Quinn and Annabel search carefully for signs of life, hoping to find evidence that survivors truly made it beneath the crypts.
Instead, they find… nothing.
No footprints.
 No movement.
 No signs anyone has entered or left the hidden door at all. 👁️🕯️
The silence settles heavily over the group as questions begin to mount. Are the survivors still alive beneath the chapel? Were they discovered already? Or is something else waiting below the surface? 🔥
With daylight fading and danger still lurking somewhere in Norvale, the party chooses caution over force. Messages are prepared. Familiars are sent scouting once more. And standing before the hidden entrance, Annabel, Quinn, Miller, and Thelandor realize they may be only moments away from uncovering what truly happened beneath the chapel. 🩸
