EP192 It Looked Like a Tree Stump with Arms and Two Red Eyes: Yet Another Pilliga NSW Yowie Sighting
15/08/2026 | 1h 36 mins. We’re heading to the notorious Pilliga Forest first up this week for yet another truck driver yowie sighting! If you’re new to the show or haven’t heard of the Pilliga Forest, it’s a massive, ancient semi-arid woodland covering over half a million hectares (more than 3,000 square kilometers between Coonabarabran and Narrabri), in north-central New South Wales, Australia. The Pilliga includes national parks, nature reserves, and state conservation areas, it features rugged sandstone landscapes, rich Indigenous heritage, and immense biodiversity. The Gamilaraay Nation has a deep spiritual and cultural connection to the land spanning tens of thousands of years. Recognized as a vital biodiversity hotspot, it houses hundreds of native plant and animal species, including koalas, eastern pygmy possums, rare barking owls, and malleefowl. The Pilliga is also characterized by flat sandy plains, white cypress pine forests, ironbark, and ancient rock formations. It is also a place of high strangeness where truck drivers often refuse to stop. I’ve personally taken nine reports of yowies and other strange happenings from that area over the years, and there are many more stories out there that I’ve heard and I’m sure many that I haven’t.
Today we talk to one of those truck drivers, Baz. I first interviewed Baz about his yowie sighting in the Pilliga several years ago, so first up I’m going to share an excerpt of his original interview, and then I caught up with him a couple of months ago for a catch up chat. Baz shared what happened when he and a mate went looking for yowies in the Glenbrook/Blue Mountains area of NSW (another yowie hotspot) – and I’m talking a whole heap of what I’d call typical yowie activity and moments of feeling that nameless dread that so many people report. Baz also tells us about the time he had full blown sighting of a black panther, and how he’s worked out a great way to broach the subject of yowies with new people to find like-minded friends.

You’re driving through Rossmore on the outskirts of Sydney NSW, an area with market gardens, open paddocks and a house here and there. Suddenly, you see an 8-10 foot tall, silvery-grey, hairy being with a conical head thundering down a driveway, cross the road in two bounds and disappear down the opposite driveway! That’s what happened to Jane and her daughters about 25 years ago, she remembers it vividly and she’s going to share it with you today. The fact there were two witnesses lends even more credence to this report. Jane is also one of those people who sees beyond the veil and has had a lifetime of high strangeness going on around her - and boy does she have some fascinating, spooky experiences to share with you!

28/07/2026 | 1h 15 mins. We've got a ripper of a show lined up for you! Ian’s joining us to share some seriously chilling paranormal experiences in Far North Queensland (FNQ). While out cutting timber at Blackdown Tableland, he had an experience that absolutely terrified him - and he’s an ex-professional boxer who usually isn’t scared of much. Then over to Moranbah, the Isaac River and Garrawalt Creek for yowie sightings and encounters, both his own and his friends', including a yowie that fades out in front of the eyes and a yowie seen by a large group of about forty young people; and finally over to Townsville for some spooky paranormal action.

18/07/2026 | 1h 43 mins. We've got an amazing show lined up for you today as we stay mostly in my home state of VIC, but also head to Kariong NSW and Exmouth WA. I first spoke with Steve several years ago when he told me about the large, grey-coloured, weirdly-moving being he suspects was a yowie that he saw in the Valencia Creek area. I heard from him again a few years later when he reported seeing a juvenile yowie up near Kariong in NSW. Sadly, I lost that recording so a couple of months ago I reached out to him to see if we could re-record it. Steve wrote back that he’d love to speak with me, that he was unwell and had a terminal illness, and that he’d like to share a few other weird things that he experienced over the years before he passes. We’ve got bizarre golden-skinned humanoids, a huge, bell-shaped UFO, yowies in Valencia Creek VIC and Kariong NSW, and more! Ready? Buckled up? Let’s go! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.- We're heading to Cooloolabin QLD as Emma joins us to share her amazing yowie experiences. When she moved into her current place, she felt the dooligarl presence straight away. Emma set out to made friends with them, and I think you'll agree she did a fantastic job. From chittering, hooting, whistling and running around her home to red eyes and an intense energy wave that hit her in the chest, Emma's dooligarl experiences are remarkable. Emma also shares a fascinating idea she had as to why dooligarls seem to like gifting marbles. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
