Welcome back to our REWIND series! Christi and Kelly are going back through the archive, re-editing, and re-uploading our old episodes — in order, from the very beginning of Dance Moms. This week, they’re revisiting season 1, episode 5 (“When Stars Collide”), where the girls are getting ready for the ALDC showcase, a Broadway agent is coming to watch… and somehow, the moms end up being forced to perform too.

Christi and Kelly look back on the absolute nightmare of learning a dance from Cathy, wearing those costumes on national television, and realizing they were about to be humiliated in front of their kids, the audience, and every person who would ever watch the episode later.

Plus, the two revisit the fallout from Christi’s fight with Abby and Melissa from the previous episode. There are some apologies, but not before Abby tries to get Christi to sign an outrageous contract. Also covered in the episode is Mackenzie refusing to sing, Chloe getting called out over a hair tie on her birthday, and the early signs that Dance Moms was becoming much bigger than anyone originally thought!

Christi and Kelly recap Dance Moms season 5, episode 24 — “West Coast Strikes Back,” where the ALDC’s rivalry with MDP starts feeling a lot less like friendly competition and a lot more like a real threat.

This week, Abby is back in Los Angeles, MDP is at the same competition, and Erin Babbs knows exactly how to get under her skin. Between the “monster” routine, the American Girl doll made to look like Abby, and the backstage tension, Christi and Kelly watch as the West Coast rivalry turns into one of the few matchups that actually seems to rattle Abby.

But the biggest drama is still happening inside the ALDC. After Mackenzie beats Maddie, Abby gives her the lead in the group dance — only to take it away and hand it right back to Maddie. Christi and Kelly break down how predictable the switch felt, why the dance suddenly looked like a Maddie solo with backup dancers, and why the moms were so frustrated that Melissa did not fight harder for Mackenzie.

They also react to JoJo dancing a tribute solo for her grandmother, Kendall competing “Just an Illusion,” Jill’s truly terrible pep talk, Jess’s giant bow hat, Abby’s carpet-like outfit, and the now-iconic “my mom’s dead” moment.

The Housewives cheating video was real after all, and Christi and Kelly have plenty to say about how the Real Housewives of Rhode Island finally handled it.

This week on BTTB Reality Exposed, we review episode 12 of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island "The Ferry-Tale Is Over." The cast heads to Block Island, where Jo-Ellen is still being treated like the problem even though Brian is the one everyone should be talking about. Rulla has spent past few episodes questioning the cheating video, the date, and whether it could have been manipulated, but that all falls apart once Brian admits the video is real

Christi and Kelly also react to the lobster dinner, where Rosie finally says what everyone else keeps dancing around: Jo-Ellen did not create this mess. Brian did. And just when it seems like the season is trying to wrap the cheating drama up, the post-filming update makes everything even messier, with Brian’s arrest, the tracker on Rulla’s car, and Rulla still seeming unsure about what comes next.

Plus, Christi and Kelly break down the parts of the episode that felt the most produced, including the beach makeups, Billy’s proposal, and why Rosie might be exactly the kind of cast member reality TV producers love.

Welcome back to our REWIND series! Christi and Kelly are going back through the archive, re-editing, and re-uploading our old episodes — in order, from the very beginning of Dance Moms. This week, they’re revisiting season 1, episode 4 (“Stealing the Show”), an episode that still feels heavy because it brings them right back to one of the first times the show stopped feeling fun.

At the center of the episode is Paige. Kelly remembers watching the week unfold knowing her daughter was being pushed toward a solo she wasn’t prepared for, without the music she needed, while everyone else kept acting like the moms were just being dramatic. Christi was feeling it too, watching Chloe get handed new choreography while Maddie walked in with two solos and far more preparation. What aired as jealousy was, to them, really a slow-motion disaster they could see coming before the kids ever stepped on stage.

Christi and Kelly also revisit the other chaos surrounding the week: Kathy refusing to ride the bus, Vivi getting stuck with the Bumblebee solo, Melissa working the front desk, Abby insisting the girls were ready, and the competition day tension that made everything feel worse.

Christi and Kelly recap Dance Moms season 5, episode 23 — “Maddie vs. Mackenzie,” where Mackenzie FINALLY beats Maddie… and everyone’s reactions become the big story.

Instead of letting Mackenzie have her moment, things get weird. Super weird. Melissa is emotional, Maddie is upset, and Abby turns the whole thing into a lesson about “losers.” These reactions tell you everything there is to know about the dynamic between Maddie, Mackenzie, Melissa, and Abby.

For years, everyone was taught that Maddie winning made sense, Maddie getting the extra attention made sense, and Maddie being protected made sense. But the second Mackenzie wins, it becomes clear how hard it is for the room to celebrate her without making it about Maddie.

Christi and Kelly also react to Nia calling out the lack of opportunities she gets, JoJo being humiliated over opportunities outside of Abby’s control, guest Travis Payne bringing in a completely different kind of energy, and a group routine that proves how strange this show could be when real performance-world choreography was dropped into a Dance Moms competition setting.
