Night Watch: Bryan Pata’s MURDER WITNESS FOUND ALIVE
Miami Hurricanes football standout Bryan Pata was months from the NFL when he was shot outside his apartment in 2006. Fifteen years later, former teammate Rashaun Jones was arrested and charged in the killing, but the case swerved again when ESPN reporters located a supposedly “deceased” eyewitness…alive. With the witness now deemed unfit to testify and prior statements set to be used at trial, Jones maintains his innocence as the court date resets for February 2026. In this episode, Katie retraces the rivalry, the evidence, the media’s role, and the two-decade fight for justice by Pata’s family.

First Watch: Sex Offender Hunted & Triple Femicide Streamed in “House of Horrors”
In California, police say 29-year-old Varun Suresh used Megan’s Law listings to track down 71-year-old David Brimmer—then stabbed him to death, allegedly calling it “justice.” Suresh now faces murder and burglary charges as investigators probe his past and his vigilante motive. Meanwhile, Katie investigates a second case in Argentina, where the dismembered bodies of two young women and a teenage girl were unearthed behind a suburban home. Their torture and killings were allegedly streamed to a private audience as a gang warning. Nine suspects are in custody, including the alleged ringleader “Little J,” as authorities race to verify the livestream platform and piece together who else was involved.

True Crime This Week: Halloween Horrors
On the scariest night of the year, two women met real-life terror. In 2008, Arpana Jinaga hosted a costume party in her Seattle apartment and was found strangled days later, her killer still unknown. On Halloween morning in 1981, Sister Tadea Benz was murdered inside her Amarillo convent, a case that may have ended with the wrong man executed. The scariest part of Halloween is knowing justice never came.

Night Watch: The Idaho College Murders Part 5
He wouldn’t talk after his arrest…but the data did. In the finale of our Idaho Student Murders series, we unpack what investigators uncovered about Bryan Kohberger’s alleged motive: unsettling internet searches, late-night car cleaning, Instagram follows and unanswered DMs to the victims, and a digital trail that points to obsession. With the trial moved to Boise and the death penalty on the table, Kohberger took a plea to avoid execution and received four life sentences without parole. We break down the newly released files, the classmates’ red flags, and the families’ powerful statements, as we remember Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin.

First Watch: “HORRIBLE HOWIE” Wall Street Predator Exposed & Online Romance Turned Dismemberment
Today, Katie digs into two disturbing cases of power and violence. First, the fall of Howard “Horrible Howie” Rubin, a wealthy Wall Street trader accused of luring vulnerable women into a Manhattan torture chamber with the help of his assistant. Now facing federal sex trafficking charges, and linked to dozens of potential victims, Rubin’s decades of abuse are finally catching up to him. Then, the heartbreaking story of June Bunyan, a Scottish immigrant whose dream life in Los Angeles ended in tragedy. Prosecutors say her husband, Jonathan Rentaria, strangled and dismembered her before confessing in a suicide note. He’s now facing murder charges and a possible insanity defense.
