Welcome back to The Calm & Happy Home Podcast!

This week it's just me, and I'm talking about a message I received from a lovely listener. She's approaching 50, she's been in the same career for years and she knows she doesn't want to do it anymore, but she has no idea what she wants to do instead. I read it and knew straight away that it was today's episode.

If you're ready for something different but haven't got a clue what that looks like yet, this one is for you. You don't need the five year plan. We take a tour of the home, compass direction by compass direction, to make space for whatever comes next.

Why I don't sit on ideas anymore, and the "show me" intention I've had on repeat
The West: letting go of the evidence of your old identity (old notebooks, work folders, lanyards) and why an empty shelf is a good thing
The North: how to set a career intention when you don't know exactly what you want
The South: visibility, the story you've told about yourself for years, and why October is your month for confidence
The Southeast: growth that doesn't have to mean doing more, and what if your next chapter was actually easier?
The East: when it's other people's fears that keep you stuck
The Northwest: helpful people, and why you should say yes to the coffee, the conversation and the podcast someone sends you
The Northeast: giving yourself permission to be curious again, without turning it into a business
The Centre and the front door: looking after yourself, and being open to receive with "I'm available for something good"
Why none of your experience is wasted, and how my teaching career led me to my feng shui course

You don't need the whole plan. Start with your home, make some space, ask to be shown and see how good this next chapter can get.

Welcome back to The Calm & Happy Home Podcast!

This week is a bit of a different one, I've handed the reins over to my daughter Immy for a very special interview. She wrote her own list of questions without me seeing them first, so this episode is as much a surprise for me as it is for you, some feng shui, some life, and a few properly embarrassing moments thrown in.

If you've ever wondered what I was really like as a teenager, whether I secretly use ChatGPT, or what my daughter thinks of my "podcast voice", grab a cuppa, this one's a fun, honest one.

What I was actually like at 14 (a floater, if we're honest, until one English essay changed everything)
Why my "podcast voice" really is different from how I talk at home, and the reason behind it
Having lots of different friendship groups rather than one best friend, and why that's served me so well
The great debate over what to name our next dog
How I really feel about AI and ChatGPT, where it helps me hugely in business and where I'll never let it near my feng shui
Whether I'd move to Sydney if Immy studies there one day
My (very limited) artistic skills, that art GCSE, and the painting Ed still doesn't know the whereabouts of
Why you don't have to be brilliant at everything, some things just aren't your strength, and that's okay
Never picturing myself where I am now, and how I ended up here anyway by trusting things would work out
What Immy wants to do when she's older, and the passion she's found that combines two things she loves

You don't need to have it all figured out to end up exactly where you're meant to be.
