Season 2 of Barrel Horse Stats Aus, kicked off with the incredible, super star of Australian Barrel Racing, Leanne Caban. 
From her early days starting out in the saddle, through to breaking the Australian barrel racing record on a standard pattern, before dominating the Australian Professional Rodeo Association Barrel Racing scene for the past 4 years consecutively.

As the 2025 APRA regular season finishes up, the Pro Tour Champions get to catch their breath after going hard all year. Liss Kenny has not only taken out the highest earnings for the season in the Breakaway, incredibly she’s also earned the Pro Tour Title for Allround Cowgirl. 

Join us as Liss shares her story of life on the rodeo trail & the special horses who have taken her there, including her super star mount, Darlea Hickrey aka Ted.

This episode I get to sit down with the freshly crowned ABHA Cap Coast Futurity Champion Kit Kirkwood & learn a little about her exciting futurity mare BKK Heavenly Hot. The first and the only horse in Australia by the incredible USA barrel horse sire, JL Dash Ta Heaven.
Kit Kirkwood is a skilled and passionate horsewoman originally from the United States, who made the move to Australia in 2019. She now lives just outside Rockhampton near Yeppoon with her husband Bill and daughter Billie, on a stunning lakefront cattle property. 

Kit offers private and group horsemanship lessons—from intensive one-on-one boot camps to clinics for all levels, right through to riders competing at the top of their game. No matter the discipline, every horse in her program is built on a strong, thoughtful foundation that sets them up for long-term success.

Soon, she and her family will also be welcoming guests for farm stays, where folks can slow down, saddle up, and soak in the real rhythm and peace of rural Queensland life on their property, Coffee Lake.
