LFTR 111 - Go to Bend!
31/08/2025 | 48 mins.
If you love beer, bands and big skies, you’d love Bend, Oregon. We spent a week there and in nearby Sisters doing some good old fashioned eating, drinking and shopping. Oh and we also saw two great concerts, played in the Deschutes River and enjoyed a great state park where littlest once again made a friend. Thanks for listening! Please let us know what you think! We proceed to scream into the void for 45 minutes*.Oh, and there’s something about people not wanting kids in breweries? What’s this world coming to?*Ok more like 25.Thanks for listening! We’ll have some letter and tales style episodes coming up for you next, along with an RV trip to Bend and maybe even a solo Jamie trip that’s not just for service appointments!FYI - The Bumpass Hell trail is 3 miles total, out and backThanks for listening! LFTR 107 - Sequoia and Kings Canyon
24/07/2025 | 54 mins.
Week 4/5 of Summer 2025! We ditched the beaches and headed for the hills - the giant sequoias and mountains of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks to be specific. Come along with us as we recount our favorite campgrounds hikes and ranger talks in these parks that quickly stole our hearts.*Generals Highway Length Limits - The section we mentioned between Giant Forest Museum and Foothills Visitor Center is not advised for vehicles longer than 22/24 ft, and prohibited for single vehicles longer than 40 ft and combination vehicles longer than 50 ft.**Tokopah Falls trail is “pretty exposed” to the sun - it is not exposed in the sense of cliffs by the trail for really any of it.***Big Meadows Campground is a Sequoia Natl Forest campground but is not dispersed camping as we said it was. It is reservable on recreation.gov. It has a few 40ft+ sites. Thanks for listening! Please let us know what you think!
