  • Ep. 287: Purpose in Sobriety: How to Say Not This, Pivot Your Career & Find Meaning After Quitting Drinking
Have you ever quit drinking, looked around your life, and thought, “Wait… is this it?” I get it. Sobriety cracks you wide open. Once alcohol is out of the way, the things you’ve been tolerating suddenly become louder than ever. Without wine to numb the edges, all of that becomes impossible to ignore. And that’s not a bad thing — that’s your invitation to find your purpose in sobriety. In this episode, I asked Karolina Rzadkowolska — sobriety coach, podcast host, and bestselling author of Euphoric: Ditch Alcohol and Gain a Happier, More Confident You — to share how quitting drinking helped her pivot her career, discover her purpose, and unleash creativity and confidence she didn’t know was possible. • Ep 286: Money Stress In Your Marriage: How To Break The Cycle (Without Reaching For A Drink)
Do you and your partner keep circling the same money arguments — budgets, spending, saving — and somehow end up frustrated, shut down, or resentful? You’re not alone. Money is emotional (because… humans), and in sobriety those emotions aren’t numbed out anymore. The good news: you can break the cycle, learn to talk about money without blowing up, and build a financial plan that actually matches your values. In this episode, I asked Dee Zimmerman, couples financial coach and creator of the Wealth Together program, to share how you can understand your money stories, avoid the Gottman “Four Horsemen” in money talks, and start simple, weekly conversations that reduce conflict and build partnership. For the full shownotes, kindly go to this podcast episode link: https://hellosomedaycoaching.com/money-stress-in-your-marriage-how-to-break-the-cycle-without-reaching-for-a-drink/ 4 Ways I Can Support You In Drinking Less + Living More Join The Sobriety Starter Kit, the only sober coaching course designed specifically for busy women. • Ep. 285: The Sober Shift: Outgrowing Alcohol, Celebrating Your Sober Firsts And Choosing Your Hard
If you’ve been thinking, “I’m not that bad… but I’m also not okay,” this one’s for you. Today I’m talking with my dear friend Suzanne Warye—creator of The Sober Mom Life and author of The Sober Shift: A Modern-Day Guide to Living an Abundant Sober Life—about why sobriety can be less about “rock bottom” and more about reclamation. I asked Suzanne Warye, author of The Sober Shift, to share how to stop obsessing about “forever,” live in the present, and use simple shifts—like counting sober firsts—to build momentum without shame or perfection. She breaks down the mindset tools that actually helped her, why she says “sober for good” (for the good of your mind, relationships, presence), and how to keep going when your brain is screaming for the easy button. • Ep. 284: Divorce, Toxic Co-Parenting, Anger & Alcohol: How To Protect Your Peace (And Your Sobriety)
If divorce or co-parenting has you thinking “this could drive me to drink,” you’re not alone. Separation brings anger, resentment, logistics chaos, and a whole lot of nervous-system fireworks. Alcohol can feel like the quickest off-switch — but it doesn’t solve anything, and usually makes you more anxious and less steady. In this episode, I’m talking to Scott Pinyard — former Head Coach at This Naked Mind, alcohol-free coach, and creator of a co-parenting program — about navigating divorce, toxic co-parenting, anger, and alcohol. I asked Scott (coach and long-time co-parent who divorced when his daughter was a toddler) to share how to stop trying to change your ex, work with your own anger, and create pockets of peace for you and your kids — without numbing out with alcohol. • Ep. 283: Are You “Being Nice”... or Stuck in the Fawning Trauma Response?
If you’ve ever felt like you’re the one who keeps the peace, says yes to everything, earns the gold stars, and never wants to disappoint anyone—even when it means abandoning yourself—this episode is for you. There’s a name for that pattern, and it’s not “being nice” or “just how you are.” It’s called fawning. Fawning is a trauma response—right alongside fight, flight, or freeze—where you people-please, appease, or perform to keep yourself safe in relationships. It’s the “please and appease” reflex: managing the emotions and needs of everyone around you to avoid conflict, rejection, or harm. And for so many high-achieving women, it can look like success… while quietly draining your mental health, your self-trust, and your sense of who you really are. I asked Dr. Ingrid Clayton, psychologist and author of the new book Fawning: Why the Need to Please Makes Us Lose Ourselves and How to Find Our Way Back, to share how to recognize the fawning trauma response, why high-achieving women are especially vulnerable to it, and practical tools to help you set boundaries, manage anxiety, and reconnect with yourself—without numbing out with alcohol.
