Dorothy Gager is one of my favorite people in the world. A prolific and thoughtful artist who is still learning new media later in her career, her work has shown locally and internationally, and her public art installations are displayed in Southern and Central California airports, churches, and a Smithsonian-affiliated musuem.

Mariposa Arts Council and Music on the Green
The Mariposa County Arts Council promotes and supports all forms of the cultural arts throughout Mariposa County. As the state-local partner to the California Arts Council, their work involves arts education programs, public arts events and creative placemaking projects, as well as community partnership and arts policy. All efforts are designed to enrich Mariposa economically, socially, and culturally, and to serve our County’s diverse communities.
One of their most popular programs, Music on the Green, draws artists from the Sierra Foothills and Central valley to the picturesque town of Mariposa for a musically diverse, Summer-long concert series.
