An Odyssey Sound Session with sleepazoid.
The Melbourne alt-rock five-piece formed in 2024 are our ones to watch. Ahead of the release of their second EP, NEW AGE, out February 5, Nette and Jim spoke with Roxy about the songs that have influenced their songwriting.
Produced and mixed by Jack Nigro at Sonora Studios, the EP is filled with sleepazoid's signature raw energy with influences of post-punk, shoe gaze and grunge. Following their debut EP, the band have built a loyal and growing fanbase, and will be playing Laneway Festival in Melbourne before their headline Australian tour in March.

Hatchie, the project of Brisbane born, Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Harriette Pilbeam recently released her new album Liquorice. Created in collaboration with Melina Duterte (aka Jay Som), Hatchie has crafted her most honest, freeing music yet. Over the past eight years, Hatchie has quietly become one of Australia's most compelling musical exports. The Irish band made up of childhood friends Lily Aron (Vocals), Emma Brandon (Guitar), Ailbhe Barry (Bass) and Hannah Kelly (Drums), spent their teens perfecting their craft in Aron's garden shed in Wicklow, Ireland. The band have had a breakthrough year, establishing themselves as one of the most exciting new acts of the moment. With standout sets at SXSW London and The Great Escape, and support slots with Olivia Rodrigo, sombr, Wallows, Royel Otis, Wolf Alice and The Last Dinner Party to come, their momentum shows no sign of slowing.
