An Odyssey Sound Session with Fontaines D.C.  The Dublin-formed, London-based post-punk band are the most exciting band in the world right now. Formed at university in 2014, the five members include Grian Chatten (vocals), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan III (bass), Tom Coll (drums) and Carlos O'Connell (guitar). The Grammy-nominated group broke through in 2019 with their nihilistic, liberating debut album Dogrel. Powered by the hit “Starburster”, their latest album Romance has seen the band soar to new heights with their instinctive rock sound, new pop melodies and immaculate live show. • spill tab
An Odyssey Sound Session with spill tab. LA-based, French-Korean singer, songwriter, and producer spill tab (aka Claire Chicha) is ready to release her debut album. The alt-pop artist was raised by a French Algerian composer father and a Korean pianist mother, and spent her early years immersed in music at her parents' post-production studio, absorbing jazz, classical, and other influences. Following a childhood spent between LA, Thailand, and Paris, Chicha developed a distinctive alt-pop sound blending raw guitar with anthemic pop hooks. Chicha is known for her powerful live show, opening the North American leg of Sabrina Carpenter’s tour, as well as touring throughout Australia with Wallows. spill tab was also selected to feature in Saint Laurent's ‘live sessions’. Ahead of the release of her debut album in May, her new single ANGIE has been released, co-produced by Chicha, John Hill (FKA Twigs, Charli xcx), and Solomonophonic (SZA, Lola Young, Remi Wolf) and was premiered on Jack Saunders’ BBC Radio 1 show. • Biig Piig
An Odyssey Sound Session with @biig_piig. Biig Piig is the project of Jess Smyth, the Irish singer-songwriter. Today Biig Piig releases her debut album 11:11. It’s a huge moment for the artist who has been quietly influencing mainstream music through her dreamy, genre-bending, genre-defying sounds, and her work with the NiNE8 collective in London. Speaking about the album, Biig Piig shares: “This record is about moments of clarity - those flashes of realisation when everything makes sense, even if just for a second. It’s about chasing those moments, losing them, and finding them again. I wanted the album to feel fluid, like a dream you don’t want to wake up from. Every song exists in its own world, but together, they tell a story about love, fear, identity, and learning to trust yourself.” In this episode, Jess joins Roxy to talk about the songs that have soundtracked important moments on her journey.
