Market Close 18 Aug 25: Six straight record highs for ASX200
Aussie shares inched higher on Monday with the ASX200 climbing for a sixth straight day of record highs, setting the stage for a huge week ahead. Investors are eyeing the 9,000-point milestone, a flood of profit results from the likes of BHP, CSL and Woodside, and global events including the Jackson Hole Symposium and talks between Trump and Zelensky. Locally, banks led gains with NAB and CBA lifting, while Telstra and REA Group rebounded. But there was also plenty of red on the screen with sharp falls for BlueScope Steel, New Hope, oOh!media and Cochlear.
